My Grace-Full Life

3.4.19 Praise & Prayer Prompt: Lesson From an iPhone

PRAISE & PRAYER PROMPT ••• As I type this morning’s prayer prompt, I hold in my hand a life lesson about the importance of being recharged and renewed.
My phone isn’t holding a charge today.
It didn’t fully charge last night and I’m not sure if it’s the cord or the phone (please pray it’s the cord!!!).
As I have been aggravated about this inconvenience, it did remind me that I have to make sure my connection is working too.
I can’t take it for granted that if I just read my Bible and say a prayer, then go about my day, that will be enough to sustain me.
It’s more than going through the motions.
It’s about being committed and connected to Jesus.
Psalm 51:12 says, “Restore to me the joy of your salvation, and uphold me with a willing spirit.”
I seriously want you to think about those words, “joy of salvation.”
When we were first saved, we felt an all-consuming joy and peace because of the assurance that we were redeemed.
But over time, life.
Life and daily responsibilities have a way of overshadowing the things we hold most dear.
The routine of living blurs the story of our salvation and we begin to disconnect from the joy we experienced.
We need to plug in and be restored and renewed in order to experience the joy of our salvation!
We are saved once.
But every single day, we have the privilege of walking in that joy!
The question is… are we?
Today, as you pray, thank God for random reminders of what is important.
Ask the Holy Spirit to help you rediscover the joy of your salvation.
Reflect on what Jesus did for you and re-experience the joy of redemption and the confidence of your eternal security.
