3.29.18 Praise Prompt: God’s Miracles

PRAISE PROMPT ••• Do you ever think about miracles?
We use the term a lot, but do we understand it?
Since Merriam Webster’s website trolls for recent uses of the term, and the first two uses were that of a makeup artists’ skill and an article on pecs from a health magazine — let’s define it so everyone’s on the same page.
A miracle is “an extraordinary event manifesting divine intervention in human affairs.”
Miracles are described throughout the Bible.
From the miracles God worked through Moses to the countless miracles performed by Jesus, miracles give us a chance to glimpse the extraordinary, almighty power of God our Father.
They are proof that nothing is too hard for Him!
But when it comes to our modern world, we are jaded.
We’re less likely to attribute miracles to God, and more likely to reassign the credit.
For example – the dangerous surgery that had miraculous results…
Do we give the credit to God, or the skill of the surgeon?
Do we tell everyone about the amazing surgeon who turned things around for our friend?
Do we fail to remember that the surgeon’s knowledge and skills are gifts from God?
God designed all of us (Genesis 1:26).
Both believers and non-believers.
And whether that doctor believes in Jesus or not, as a human being created in the image of God, he has God-given intelligence and skills.
So the miraculous surgery isn’t because of the doctor.
It goes full circle to the One who created the doctor!
In Jeremiah 32:27, God said, “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is anything too hard for me?”
Today, my goal is to encourage us (myself included) to open our eyes to the miracles that are hidden in plain sight all around us.
The miracle of sunlight.
The miracle of oxygen.
The miracle of life.
The miracle of healing.
And most of all, as we approach Easter, the miracle of God’s own love that He let Jesus die for us as the perfect sacrifice.
Miracles come in all shapes and sizes.
If you’re praying for a specific request, you are praying for God to deliver a miracle.
If your request is part of His will and His plan, then He’s promised to answer you (John 15:7 and 1 John 5:14-15).
Today, let’s praise the fact that for God makes miracles.
We can never ask for a miracle too small because He cares about every detail of our lives (Luke 12:7 and 1 Peter 5:7).
We can’t ask for miracles that are too big because nothing is impossible for Him (Luke 1:37).
