3.27.17 Prayer Prompt: Admiring Weeds

PRAYER PROMPT ••• As spring approaches, dandelions pop up. These bright yellow flowers are a prime example of “beauty is in the eye of the beholder.”
To a three-year-old, they are a lovely flower to be gathered and appreciated.
To most adults, they are a weed.
We can learn a lot from children.
Sometimes, the things we see as nuisances actually offer benefits, if we can stop looking on the surface and get past the superficial.
The lowly dandelion is a prime example…. without getting into all the health benefits of this edible, flowering weed, let’s look at the bigger picture.
Is there something or someone you have only looked at superficially? Something (someone) who you have undervalued and under appreciated?
Today, say a prayer and ask Jesus to show you a new way of looking at things.
Ask Him to help you find the beauty around you, even if everyone else thinks you’re admiring a weed.
NOTE: Feel free to comment, but these prayer prompts are meant to be between you and God. Matthew 6:6 — But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
