TODAY’S SIGNATURE VERSE ••• For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. (Romans 8:18 ESV)
PRAISE & PRAYER PROMPT ••• One thing I don’t write about very often is the return of Christ. Make no mistake, I fully believe that Jesus will rapture His church. It’s imminent. However, end-time prophecy is very overwhelming to me. Since I’m not a theologian, I choose not to tackle the topic. However, I saw a Facebook post this weekend that had a really valid point… it said, “If a virus can cause this much chaos, just think what the rapture is going to do.”
Mic drop.
And heartbreak.
Too many in our world are not ready, including some people I dearly love. I’m sincerely praying that God is going to use this to bring about a world-wide revival, which we desperately need. People need Jesus. And we need Him on our best days as desperately as we need Him on our worst! Please join me in this prayer for revival!
While I’m not going to delve into end-time theology, this morning, I want to talk about Romans 8:18. It says, “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.”
This is a difficult time for ALL of us. We are scared, overwhelmed, and anxious. But whatever we face here on earth is temporary. As Hebrews 13:14 says, “For here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city that is to come.”
Life looks very different today than it did even a week ago. But this I know: Jesus is still on the throne. This whole thing has reminded me that all that we know right now is temporary. It’s not wise to get too comfortable because then, we forget to long for the perfection of Jesus! All this suffering and worry and chaos—it’s going to be irrelevant when we see the face of Jesus! And someday, we will all face Him.
Will you face Him and see your Savior? Or face Him and see your judge?
Revival starts with us. We may be practicing social distancing but use your social media! Use your phone! Share Jesus! Let others know that something better waits for us! Eternity in the glorious presence of Jesus is available to all who believe in Him!
Today, as you pray, thank God that something better awaits us. Thank Him for the reminder that all of this is temporary. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you be the church and use this time to share about the love of Jesus and the salvation He offers.
