PRAISE & PRAYER PROMPT ••• I’m borrowing BibleGateway.com’s verse of the day today…
“Whom have I in heaven but you? And there is nothing on earth that I desire besides you. My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever (Psalm 73:25-26).
I needed this reminder today.
No matter where I’m at – happy, sad, stressed, worried, hopeful, discouraged, or anywhere on the spectrum of human emotions – God is enough for me.
He is exactly what I need every moment of every day.
And when we acknowledge this truth, His strength will always sustain us in both joys and trials!
I’m reading the book of Job right now and I imagine that if Job had a life verse, he may have chosen this passage.
Whether he owned much property or was stripped of all he had, Job knew that He needed God more than anything else.
Even though God allowed Job to face extraordinary hardships and pain, for reasons Job couldn’t understand and reasons he questioned, Job still recognized God’s sovereignty and his dependence on God.
I pray that we all understand that truth.
We are lost and hopeless without our Creator.
Today, as you pray, thank God for being everything we need…
Thank Him that nothing else will ever fill us or sustain us outside of Him alone.
Ask Him to keep your heart and eyes focused on Jesus and that you will always seek His will above your own.
