3.15.19 Praise & Prayer Prompt: Fearless

PRAISE & PRAYER PROMPT ••• Over the last few months, I’ve gotten in the habit of turning on the WBFJ or K-LOVE app while I design the morning graphic.

This morning was no different.

I had my stock photography, and had chosen the verse of the day — “for God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control” (2 Timothy 1:7).

All my elements were coming together and I was beginning to mentally think through what to write.

Then Josh Baldwin’s song, “Stand in Your Love” came on.

If you aren’t familiar, the chorus repeats, “My fear doesn’t stand a chance / When I stand in Your love.”

And I just love it when God does that!

When He reinforces something that’s on my mind.

I chose this verse as a message for myself this morning.

I needed this reminder that God doesn’t intend for me to live in fear.

Yet, I tend to get anxious and tense over things I can’t control.

If I’m not diligent about fighting this battle, I will live life on the edge of my seat, waiting for the other shoe to drop.

And it’s really not a fun way to live.

I get crabby and snippy when I live that way.

No one likes being around a grumpy Denise.

But as the song says, when we stand in the love of God, fear doesn’t stand a chance.

And as the verse says, He created us to be filled with His power, love, and self-control.

Fear isn’t of God.

He gives peace and freedom; not fear.

Today, as you pray, give praise to God for being the antithesis of fear.

Thank Him for reminding us that fear has no place in His love.

Ask the Holy Spirit to help you fearlessly walk in God’s love and enjoy His peace, because He is in control.
