2.24.19 Praise & Prayer Prompt: Rain, Rain, Blessings from God

PRAISE & PRAYER PROMPT ••• It’s raining.

Again.

For the…

I’ve lost track of how many days in a row.

The creek in our backyard looks more like river rapids, and our neighbor has a brand new pond in their yard.

North Carolina is waterlogged and over it.

But despite all the complaining and jokes I’ve seen about the rain on Facebook, the rain is a gift from God.

(Though I do think my friend who used Facebook to threaten harm anyone who complained about droughts this summer has a valid point!)

Rain is often described as a blessing, but as Noah can attest, rain can also bring disaster.

But frankly, we’ve complained enough.

Let’s look at Psalm 147:7-8.

It says, “Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving; Sing praises on the harp to our God, Who covers the heavens with clouds, Who prepares rain for the earth, Who makes grass to grow on the mountains.”

Spring is on the way.

And honestly, I’d rather have the rain over something really awful like snow.

Today’s rains are preparing tomorrow’s flowers.

Let’s challenge ourselves to find something positive to say about all this wet weather and praise God that after the rain, we can enjoy the sunshine!

Today, as you pray, pray the signature verses for today—“Sing to the Lord with thanksgiving; Sing praises on the harp to our God, Who covers the heavens with clouds, Who prepares rain for the earth, Who makes grass to grow on the mountains.”

Thank God for the rain and praise Him for the renewed life that is coming with the spring!
