4.9.18 Praise & Prayer Prompt: Always the Same

PRAISE & PRAYER PROMPT ••• Facebook has been having a field day with weather memes.

The one I saw yesterday said we were in a new season called “Sprinter,”—winter in spring.

The inconsistent weather is creating some challenges.

Beyond the problems of trying to get dressed in the mornings, my husband’s plants are confused.

He’s been dragging them in and out of the house for the last several weeks and the aloe vera plant is clearly miserable, though it’s still hanging in there.

There are many things in life that are inconsistent.

Beyond the weather, people are at the top of that list.

Everyone has some idiosyncratic tendencies that make them a bit unpredictable, but some are more pronounced than others.

But no matter how crazy the weather gets or how inconsistent a person may be, one truth stands: “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.” (Hebrews 13:8 NLT).

With Him, we never have to worry about broken promises or a failure to come through.

He always does what He says He will.

He is full of love and compassion for us, and He always acts fairly and arrives on time.

While we may not always understand Him or His ways (Isaiah 55:8-9), He is always perfect.

Colossians 1:17 says, “He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together.”

He is who He is.

He is who He’s always been.

He is who He will be tomorrow.

And the day after that.

And the eternity that follows.

Today, as you pray, give praise to Jesus for His consistency!

While others may fail you, He never will!

Ask the Holy Spirit to help you embrace a consistency that is reflective of Jesus.

Pray the verse from 1 Corinthians 15:58, “So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless.”
