Our culture has embraced the notion of “Do whatever you want and if someone doesn’t like it, they are nothing but mean spirited dummy-heads!”
But because this sign demonstrates a matter of safety, not for one person, or a few, but for everyone, and people understand its purpose, the sign is generally obeyed.
People know if the sign wasn’t in place, chaos would rein, with car accidents, property damage, people hurt, and worst of all, lives lost.
The same goes for our relationship with God.
In John 14:6, Jesus says, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
That’s a one-way sign!
This verse is a directional sign that offers a clear understanding of how we get to know God through Jesus Christ!
We all travel a Road of Life, but those who refuse to obey the sign find themselves lost, confused, hurt, and alone.
While they may be able to navigate the road and obstacles for a bit, eventually, going in the wrong direction will cost much more than their lives…. it will cost their very souls.
The great news, no matter what obstacles surround you, there’s always room to turn around and change directions… to follow the One Way that will lead to God and eternity with Him.
Today, as you pray, ask God to help you be a light for that One Way sign.
Ask Him to use you to show others which direction they should face.
And pray for those who are trying it on their own, but who are going the wrong way, that they will see the sign before it’s too late.
NOTE: Feel free to comment, but these prayer prompts are meant to be between you and God. Matthew 6:6 — But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
