We haven’t seen him since October and are excited to have him in our home for a few days.
The plans are made – a couple of dinners, a baseball game, and some at-home time baked in just to talk and catch up.
But today is all about getting ready.
I’ve specifically set today aside to clean the house and make sure everything is ready for his arrival.
As I was praying about this morning’s Prayer Prompt, the Holy Spirit pressed on my heart that Jesus is doing the same thing: getting ready.
Except He’s not getting ready for visitors… He’s preparing a home for those who believe in Him.
He is preparing heaven for the countless residents who will eventually call heaven their home.
Jesus said in John 14:2-3, “In my Father’s house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.”
Isn’t that amazing?
We’re not going to be house guests!
We’re going to be citizens of heaven in a home that Jesus builds for us!
That’s quite a humbling fact!
The ultimate Carpenter is creating a home for all who believe in Him.
Do you have a place?
If you do, I can’t wait to see you there!
If you don’t, and you’re trying to decide if you want to believe – it’s a big step; the most important decision you’ll ever make. Christianity doesn’t make life perfect, but it’s not this world we’re living for.
It’s the one Jesus is preparing.

Whoever you are please join me in prayer this morning – pray for those who need Jesus, that they will have the courage to take that step and secure their place in heaven through faith in Jesus.
NOTE: Feel free to comment, but these prayer prompts are meant to be between you and God. Matthew 6:6 — But when you pray, go into your room and shut the door and pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
