PRAISE & PRAYER PROMPT ••• As I write this, it’s Very Early o’clock at my house…
I’ve been up since 4:30.
I’m usually up around 5:30 and it’s incredible what a difference an hour makes, especially at this time of day.
Thankfully, this isn’t a new norm for me, but I’ve got a meeting at 8, and it’s about an hour away.
So before we begin, please remember me in your prayers as the temptation to go back to bed to find my missing hour of sleep is very great!
This morning, let’s go to Psalm 27.
Today’s signature verse is the first half of verse 1, “The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear?”
Every now and then, this is a great passage to return to be reminded that in every situation we face, the Lord is with us.
He knows the details and He is on our side — fighting for us and defending us!
There is nothing we have to face alone and all we need to do is, as David wrote in the last verse of the chapter, “Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord! (Psalm 27:14).
Today, as you pray, thank God for being invested in you, even willing to fight for you.
Ask the Holy Spirit to remind you often that you don’t need to depend on your own strength, but instead — lean on the Lord.
Let Him hold you up as you wait on Him.
