2.7.19 Praise & Prayer Prompt: Faith in the Unseen

PRAISE & PRAYER PROMPT ••• Good morning!
As a new day dawns, it’s a chance to reflect on our faith.
We apply it to the most random things in life but so many see faith in God as incomprehensible or unachievable.
Even Christians’ faith goes wobbly from time to time.
Yet, not a single one of us loses faith that the air we breathe will help us live.
We never lose faith that gravity will keep holding us to the earth.
Hebrews 11:1 says, “Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.”
Obviously, we can’t physically see God face to face.
But we can’t see air or gravity either.
We don’t generally see the pilot as he flies the plane, but we trust that he knows what he’s doing.
We don’t usually watch the chef prepare our dinner, but we trust him to cook the chicken to the proper temperature.
All these things we have faith in that are unseen…
So why do we doubt God’s faithfulness or question whether or not we can put our faith in Jesus?
God, as the Creator of the universe, made air.
He designed gravity.
He made the pilot and the chef.
He made all things.
If we trust in the things He made, we can certainly trust Him.
Today, as you pray, thank God that while we can’t see all He’s doing, we can still have faith and know He’s there and is trustworthy.
Ask the Holy Spirit to help you reflect on God’s faithfulness today and recognize His great goodness.
