My Grace-Full Life

2.20.18 Prayer Prompt: Tell Others About Jesus

PRAYER PROMPT ••• In Mark 5, there is a story of Jesus ordering legions of demons out of a man and into pigs.
(One of the best sermons I’ve ever heard on it was by my friend, Kelly K. He wrote about this particular story of Jesus in his upcoming book, “Reckless Love Revolution,” and I encourage you to look into it.)
After Jesus delivered the miracle, we read, “As Jesus was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed begged to go with him. But Jesus said, ‘No, go home to your family, and tell them everything the Lord has done for you and how merciful he has been.’” (Mark 5:18-19).
When’s the last time you told others what the Lord has done for you?
Do we boldly and confidently tell others about Jesus?
Because He’s working in all of our lives and we all have stories to share…
His work may not be as dramatic as ordering demons into pigs, but that doesn’t make it any less miraculous or any less worthy of being told.
Because no matter what He’s done for you — whether He’s brought healing to you or someone you love; or He’s answered a fervent prayer, or He’s whispered on your heart — the true miracle is His endless grace and love that He lavishes on those who believe in Him.
Let’s switch over to Acts 5.
The apostles shared the Gospel in the Temple and while doing so, they really upset the religious leaders.
In verses 18-20, the apostles were arrested but an angel of the Lord released them and said (verse 20), “Go to the Temple and give the people this message of life!”
Flash forward to the end of the chapter, verses 41-42, “The apostles left the high council rejoicing that God had counted them worthy to suffer disgrace for the name of Jesus. And every day, in the Temple and from house to house, they continued to teach and preach this message: ‘Jesus is the Messiah.’”
The apostles rejoiced that they were worthy of disgrace for the sake of Jesus.
What about you?
I promise, in the course of telling others about how Jesus is working in your life, someone is going to think you’re crazy.
Trust me.
I know people have called me a “Jesus Freak,” but I consider that a huge compliment.
All that matters is sharing Jesus.
If nine people mock you, that’s okay.
But look at the impact you could have on the 10th.
That Jesus could use your personal story to reach the 10th is yet another miracle to add to the blessings He gives us.
It’s one you’d share with that 10th person, and what a wonderful bond to be shared!
Today, as you pray, ask the Holy Spirit to make you bold go share what Jesus has done for you.
Thank Jesus for His miracles, grace, mercy, and love.
