2.1.19 Praise & Prayer Prompt: 24/7

PRAISE & PRAYER PROMPT ••• Do you ever wake up, say your prayers, then go about your day, not giving God another passing thought until it’s time for your bedtime prayers?
I think a lot of us are guilty of that (if not most of us).
I have even known people who chose their church based on how fast a minister could deliver a sermon so they could have most of their Sunday free.
The sad truth is that we’re looking out for us, giving God a pittance of our time.
Basically, throwing Him the crumbs of whatever time we’re willing to spare.
How degrading to the Creator of Time and the Universe!
The very One who breathed the breath of life in us!
Psalm 113 tells us that praising God is a 24/7 thing…
Specifically, verse 3 says, “From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the Lord is to be praised!”
It’s too easy to get caught up in the day and forget that we have the Holy Spirit living in us and waiting to let us surrender control to Him.
Though we are saved by God, He is truly a gentleman—He will not force us to choose Him.
He wants us to choose to choose Him.
That’s why He gave us free will.
However, He alone is worthy of our complete devotion, praise, and worship.
All those distractions are irrelevant when it comes to eternity.
Yes, I know—we have to make a living.
But God loves us enough to be a part of it all.
And when we praise Him from sun up to sunset, we will find joy and peace throughout our day!
Today, as you pray, thank God for all He’s done.
Let Him know that you want Him to be your 24/7 focus.
Ask the Holy Spirit to help you praise Him throughout the day in all you do.
