TODAY’S SIGNATURE VERSE ••• Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! (Psalm 46:10 NKJV)
PRAISE & PRAYER PROMPT ••• How is it Friday already? This week has flown by… and honestly, I woke up without a clue what to write about. I’m kind of wondering how on earth I used to write every day for over three years because I’m stuck this morning. Partly because I have so much on my mind.
These are the kind of weeks when I really wish I could just hit the pause button on life. Just put everything on hold for a few minutes. Take an extra moment to breathe. Drink an extra cup of coffee. And look at things from a paused perspective to see if I can figure out the next best steps.
But life. And time. It moves faster with every minute.
Psalm 46:10 says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!”
Be still.
A notion that doesn’t sit well for me. Because I don’t sit still very well. But when I find myself with a cluttered mind and feeling the weight of so much, this is the best time to be still.
And recognize who God is.
How big He is.
How small I am.
And how temporary all these worries really are.
Maybe you can relate. Actually, I’d be highly skeptical of anyone who said they didn’t. We all experience the mad rush of life. We all long for the pause button. We all crave stillness in a world of constant movement.
And that’s what God invites us to do in this verse.
“Be still, and know that I am God.”
It feels like a good reminder today.
Today, as you pray, thank God for the reminder that He is who He is. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you take a moment to stop. Be still. And stand in awe of the magnificence of God, our Creator, and Redeemer.
