PRAISE & PRAYER PROMPT ••• How on earth has a whole year slipped by?
I know I’m not the only who is saying it or thinking it, but this week between Christmas and New Year’s is always a time of reflection for me.
Though I don’t make resolutions, I start thinking about where I’ve been this year and where I hope to be in the next year.
And as we close the door on another year, and prepare to welcome in 2019, I am praying that the new year brings more encouragement, joy, love, and worship.
Hebrews 10:24-25 says, “And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.”
Notice the words, “let us consider” and “how to stir up.”
This isn’t a passive text.
We are to actively think of ways to encourage one another, show each other love, pray together, and worship together.
As a community of believers, we are not individual islands.
We are in this together.
Today, as you pray, thank the Lord for His blessings and His lessons from 2018.
Ask the Holy Spirit to help you be active in your faith in the coming year so that you can encourage others to do the same.
