12.25.18 Praise & Prayer Prompt: Celebrating Jesus

PRAISE & PRAYER PROMPT ••• Merry Christmas, everyone! I come to you this morning with a raging head cold, but a warm heart filled with celebration and gratitude.
Today, we honor the birth of our Savior and King!!!
Despite the commercialism that accompanies Christmas, we know the true meaning of this Holy day.
It was prophesied hundreds of years before Jesus arrived in Bethlehem — “For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6).
I pray that each of you has a wonderful day, and that in the midst of the Christmas-chaos, you’ll ponder the miracle that this day represents…
The day Jesus was born to offer salvation to the world.
Today, as you pray, thank Jesus for coming to earth to live as man.
Thank Him for His willingness to put aside His divinity and take up a cloak of suffering in order to be the one, perfect atoning sacrifice that covers our sins for once and for all.
Ask the Holy Spirit to help you remember the miraculous gift that arrived in Bethlehem so many years ago.
