11.6.19 Praise & Prayer Prompt: Walking with God

PRAISE & PRAYER PROMPT ••• Proverbs 16:9 says, “The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps.”

God’s agenda will always supersede our own. And His redirection is meant to benefit us. He will use redirection to protect us, to teach us, to guide us, bless others, or any number of reasons. Our job in the process is to trust God’s leading and direction.

The more we walk with Him, the more our steps line up with His. I’m reminded of the scene from “Dead Poet’s Society” when Robin William’s character had three of his students walk together. Within a few moments, their gaits were uniform. While the point was to avoid conformity and not be afraid to walk your own way, I see it from a different perspective.

The object lesson is a definite truth to be embraced when you’re tempted to time your walk with the world or things that distract you from God. But walking in time with God? That’s a blessing to be sought after! He will never lead you astray or cause you to stumble!

Today, as you pray, thank God for guiding your steps. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you get in line with Him and boldly go wherever He leads.
