PRAISE & PRAYER PROMPT ••• Faith isn’t always easy, especially when we allow fear and doubt to creep up on us.
But we aren’t meant to live timid lives of faith.
2 Timothy 1:7 says, “For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control.”
Isn’t that so amazing?
To the world, Christians may be viewed as weak, but the Bible says we have power!
I think it’s the world’s assumption that a faith rooted in love, mercy, grace, and hope isn’t strong.
And that’s because love, mercy, grace, and hope aren’t things that go around flexing their muscles and looking for attention.
But these are the most powerful gifts.
To love one’s enemy makes us stronger than our enemy.
To show mercy and grace to those who don’t deserve it requires strength…
Strength that is given to us by an all-powerful, loving Heavenly Father who has given us undeserved mercy and grace.
And to hope is to believe in something with anticipation.
These are great and strong characteristics of our faith, and there is absolutely no room for fear in this equation.
Faith over fear has become a very real prayer for me in the last few months, especially as I reflect on God’s timing…
The longer I wait, the more fear tries to have it’s say, but I’m learning that a leap of faith isn’t always a big, grand gesture.
It’s simple moments when love, mercy, grace, and hope can be reflected to the world.
Being bold isn’t always a loud shout; sometimes our boldest acts of faith comes in quiet whispers.
Especially when our faith in God is bigger than all the odds stacked against us.
Today, as you pray, ask the Holy Spirit to fill you with bold, confident faith over fear.
Ask Him to remind your heart that faith isn’t weak; our faith in God will trump fear every single time.
