PRAYER PROMPT ••• Have you ever heard the phrase, “Hidden in plain sight?”
It’s something that is so obvious, yet it’s often not seen.
People act as if God is elusive, unattainable, or over complicate the truth that sits right in front of each one of us.
People search, groping in the dark for a light that is burning bright enough to illuminate the whole world.
Of course, I’m speaking of Jesus Christ.
For unbelievers, the analogy of the dark is clear, but for believers too – why do we make things so hard?
I often say my son is determined to do everything the hard way, but the apple didn’t fall far from the tree.
I’m sure God says the same thing about me.
About you.
About all of us.
If we take the Bible as God’s Truth (which it is), it’s all laid out for us!
The guidelines of living and how to know God, but do you ever feel like you’re doing this life-thing on your own?
Or feel like you’re less than because you don’t understand every word of Scripture?
We are repeatedly told throughout the Bible to seek God. Lamentations 3:25; Jeremiah 29:13; Psalm 105:4, Matthew 6:33 and of course our signature verse today, 1 Chronicles 16:11, “Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually!”
All these verses tell us to seek God.
These are just a few, but here’s a particular favorite of mine: James 4:8a, “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.”
He’s not hiding!
This isn’t some spiritual game of “Where’s Waldo.”
God not only wants you to seek Him, He wants to be found!
He’s right in front of you, waiting for your acknowledgement.
While it can sometimes feel like we’re alone, He’s there.
Right there.
Waiting for us.
How patient and good is our God!!!
Today, as you pray, ask God to give you the wisdom to see Him in all things.
Ask Him to draw near to you as you draw near to Him.
Ask Him to help you keep things simple; to not over complicate the truth of who He is and the love He has for each one of us.
