PRAISE & PRAYER PROMPT ••• Today’s signature verse is Jeremiah 29:13 ESV, “You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.”
This is one of several reminders in Scripture that God can always be found. It’s one of my very favorite promises in the Bible.
I love it because it means that God’s not hiding. He’s not out of our reach. Any sincere heart that seeks to know Him can find Him. I know this promise to be true from personal experience.
Our world would portray God as untouchable, impersonal, and unreachable. But God is only as far away as we ask Him to be. I saw a church marquee once that said, “If God feels far away, guess who moved?” That’s a mic-drop quote there. It makes a powerful statement that we can’t argue with because when God feels far away, the distance starts and ends with our own hearts.
It’s up to us to seek Him, and then, He’ll close the gap. It’s part of His loving nature to not push in where we don’t welcome Him. But when we invite His presence, He always accepts and always, always shows up.
Today, as you pray, thank God for His willingness to be found. Ask the Holy Spirit to keep a fervent desire for closeness in your heart. Ask the Holy Spirit to guide you and not allow you to wander away from His presence.
