PRAISE & PRAYER PROMPT ••• In the last week, I’ve relearned the value and importance of sharing in another’s burdens.
It’s an investment in someone else’s emotions that connect us and bring us to levels of greater empathy.
Last night, I read Romans 12:15, “Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.”
And after reading, I was once again amazed by God’s timing.
While I realize it’s far more fun to rejoice with others, a broken heart is grateful for those who empathize with their grief.
This isn’t about “misery loves company,” but it’s about the need to feel understood during times of sorrow.
I’m so blessed by those who are weeping with me right now…
It’s not that I want everyone around me to be sad, but their support and understanding have encouraged me tremendously.
It means I know I’m not alone, and that my feelings are valid.
God has used their investment in my emotions to give me strength.
God is so good to put so many prayer warriors in my life.
Today, as you pray, think of those in your life and their unique circumstances.
Pray prayers of thanksgiving for those who are in joyful seasons, and for those who are struggling, pray for comfort.
And when you don’t know how to pray for another person, remember the verses from Romans 8:26-27…
When we don’t know how to pray, the Holy Spirit will intercede in our behalf.
