PRAISE & PRAYER PROMPT ••• When I drove to Kentucky on Saturday, it was a dreary, rainy day.
It definitely matched my heart and the dread I felt about attending my grandmother’s funeral.
As I drove back yesterday, the sun was bright and shining.
I can’t say that the brightness was a reflection of my mood, but I did acknowledge the difference and it reminded me of the promise of hope found in Jesus.
We are going to have the bad days — the cold, overcast, grey times.
Then we’re going to have sunshine.
Because God has given us hope.
Paul wrote in Romans 8:18, “For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.”
So as much as we enjoy sunshine after grey, rainy days, how much more can we enjoy a future in glory with Christ?
All this suffering and hurt and heartache will be worth the joy of seeing Jesus’ glory.
Today, as you pray, thank God for the sunshine AND the rain.
Thank Him for the hope He offers us and the glory His children can look forward to in Heaven.
