PRAISE & PRAYER PROMPT ••• The last two verses of Acts say, “He lived there two whole years at his own expense, and welcomed all who came to him, proclaiming the kingdom of God and teaching about the Lord Jesus Christ with all boldness and without hindrance” (Acts 28:30-31).
“He” is Paul.
As I read through the book of Acts, I focused on the words that described the way the apostles shared the Gospel with others, and the last line of these verses sum it up.
From Jesus’ disciple Peter, the first martyr Stephen, the persecutor-turned-preacher Paul, and all the others whose experiences are shared in the book—boldness and fearlessness were common denominators.
When is the last time you shared the Gospel boldly and without fear?
It is one of those ideas that we want to do, but so many of us are hesitant.
We either worry about offending someone or we feel unqualified to answer difficult questions, so we shy away from the task we are ALL given (Mark 16:15).
But let me paint this picture for you.
There are people out there who jump out of planes on purpose.
There are people who willingly step up to a podium to speak in front of thousands, sometimes millions, of people.
And in my opinion, the boldest of them all, there are people who willingly wear bathing suits in public.
These are people who live boldly and without hindrance.
It really puts into perspective how ridiculous our fear is about simply sharing about Jesus with other people.
What would it look like if you embraced the kind of boldness and fearlessness that helped you share the Gospel?
Whose life could you influence?
What if I told you that the courage needed to be bold and fearless was readily available through the power of the Holy Spirit?
I may not be willing to jump out of a plane or wear a bathing suit in public, but I’m willing to share about Jesus.
Today, as you pray, thank God for the example of the men and women who have lived before us…
From the apostles of Acts to legendary preachers like Charles Spurgeon and Billy Graham.
Ask the Holy Spirit to fill you with courage that has no hesitation or doubt; ask Him to help you be willing at all times to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
