PRAISE & PRAYER PROMPT ••• Wherever God puts you, you have an opportunity to shine.
But it’s not of our own power.
The world tells us to shine our own lights, and we may be able to muster a few watts for a while.
But the strongest light we can ever have is a reflection of the very Light of the world—Jesus Christ.
Our signature verse today is Ephesians 5:8a, “for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord.”
When we skip down to verses 13 and 14, it says, “But when anything is exposed by the light, it becomes visible, for anything that becomes visible is light. Therefore it says, ‘Awake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you.’”
I love that!!!!
When we die to self and live for Christ (Galatians 2:20), Christ shines His light on us!
Let’s use the obvious example.
The moon does not give off light, yet it reflects the light of the sun.
In our own private little universes, we have one Son who is the source of all light and it’s our job as believers to reflect it.
Ponder that and today, as you pray, thank Jesus for being the Light of the world.
Ask Him to shine on you and give you the power and strength to reflect His light to others.
