PRAYER PROMPT ••• As Christians, we often talk about walking with Jesus.
But part of that walk includes a prayer walk.
Sometimes, the prayer walk is a bit meandering.
You kind of walk from here to there, aimlessly, with no real direction in mind.
Other times, we walk confidently and boldly; it’s a power walk.
And other times (let’s be honest), we kick off our shoes and sit on the couch.
When it comes to our prayer walk, a strong walk is going to be better for us than a casual stroll.
Just as the physical act of walking builds muscles and endurance, a strong prayer life will build strong faith and trust in God.
Hebrews 4:16 says, “So let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it most.”
Let’s walk with a straight, courageous beeline for Jesus.
Such confidence isn’t arrogant because it’s not about confidence in ourselves.
We know God doesn’t owe us anything!
Instead, walking confidently up to the throne is about confidence in Him, His will, and His all-powerful abilities.
Boldly pray Bible verses and remind God of promises He’s made in the Bible.
Remember, God doesn’t play favorites (Acts 10:34).
Since the Bible shows us example after example of His willingness to intervene for others, you can trust He will do the same for you!
But a word of caution.
Praying boldly doesn’t mean you’re guaranteed for your anticipated outcome.
If God says “Yes” to one person’s situation and says “No” to yours, you have to trust in Him.
His no means He has a better plan than you do; just wait, but keep walking in prayer.
Today, as you pray, ask the Holy Spirit to give you the faith and endurance to make your prayers power walks.
If you’re on the couch, ask Him to help you up.
If you’re wondering aimlessly, ask Him to give you focus and direction.
Ask Him to encourage you, but keep you humble and accepting of God’s will above your own.
